About and Disclosure

Our mission
SoumissionAuto.ca explains car insurance to Quebecers. In Québec, the standard contract is the same with every insurer, but protections, deductibles and premiums vary: the Autorité des marchés financiers points out that the cost can differ from one insurer to another for exactly the same coverage. You still have to understand what you are comparing, in a vocabulary with rules of its own: Section A and Section B, deductibles, endorsements, the Direct Compensation Agreement.
We publish clear, sourced information. When you are ready to get real quotes, you request them from an authorized partner, free and with no obligation. We explain; it is authorized partners who quote you.
Who operates this site
SoumissionAuto.ca is operated by Clench Media LLC. The site is an independent information outlet about car insurance in Québec. It is not affiliated with any insurer and is not part of any financial group.
How the site is funded (full disclosure)
SoumissionAuto.ca is funded by affiliate arrangements: when you request a quote from a partner after clicking one of our links, that partner may pay us compensation. Our main comparison partner is ClicAssure, a Québec platform that passes your request on to authorized insurers and brokers.
Three things to know:
- This compensation never increases the price you pay. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
- We accept no compensation for speaking well of a product or an insurer. Our pages explain coverage, not brands.
- You remain entirely free: comparing commits you to nothing.
We would rather write this out plainly than bury it in a terms page. A reader who knows how a site earns its living can judge what they are reading.
What we are not
We are not an insurer, not a damage insurance firm, not an agent and not a broker. We hold no registration or certificate from Québec’s Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), and we offer no insurance product. We do not give personalized advice, and we collect no personal information on this site. Quotes are handled by our partners, on their platforms, under their policies.
In practice, that means you will never find here:
- a price, a premium, a discount or an insurance rate, not even as an indication — we have neither the authorization nor the data for that;
- a ranking of insurers, or a recommendation naming one company rather than another;
- a quote form on our domain: our buttons take you to the authorized partner, where its privacy policy applies.
For a question that touches on your specific situation, the right person to speak to is a damage insurance agent or broker. To learn about your rights, or if you are having difficulty with an insurer, the AMF’s Information Centre and Infoinsurance’s Insurance Information Centre answer consumers’ questions.
How we check our numbers
Our editorial rules are simple and we hold to them, because an information site that invents numbers is worth nothing.
- Every number is attributed in the sentence. When we cite an amount, a time limit or a threshold, the source is named in the text itself — the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), the Autorité des marchés financiers, the Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA), Infoinsurance — and listed at the end of the page with the date it was consulted.
- We read the texts at the source. When a page relies on the standard car insurance contract, Q.P.F. No. 1, we read the form published by the AMF, not a second-hand summary. When it cites a section of a statute, we check it against LégisQuébec’s official consolidation.
- When we cannot find it, we say so. If a figure circulating online is not supported by any primary source, we write the sentence without the number and explain why, rather than copying out an unverifiable statistic.
- Every page is dated. The update date appears at the top of each page. Insurance forms and rules change: the date tells you what you are dealing with.
- No promises. No one can guarantee your premium, your acceptance or your savings before an insurer reviews the file; we will never write otherwise.
Corrections
If you believe a number, a date or a rule is inaccurate on one of our pages, write to us. We check, we correct if necessary, and we update the page’s date. A useful correction is worth more than a page that merely looks current.
Our tools
Three free calculators do your own arithmetic in your browser: the deductible versus premium break-even, the total cost of owning a car and the annual kilometres estimator. They display no premium or rate, send nothing and keep nothing: the only numbers they use are the ones you type.
